Angry NFF Dump U-19 Team In Abuja, Paid Them N5,000 Only After they Lost All Their Matches At Korea Tournament

Several U19 players were left stranded in Abuja and paid a paltry N5,000 each as transport fare, after they returned from Suwon International Tournament in South Korea.

According to sources, NFF mistreated the boys because they are angry that the team disgraced Nigeria at the football tournament.

Nigeria lost all their three matches (8-1 to England, 1-0 to Iran and 3-0 to hosts Korea) to finish bottom in the competition.

Team officials received N10,000, while head coach Manu Garba, was paid N20,000.

The tournament organizers paid the NFF an appearance fee besides paying for their flight tickets and boarding in Korea.

The U19s, made up by the core of the U17s who failed to qualify for next year’s U17 AFCON in Madagascar, posted a dismal outing at the invitational Suwon tourney.
