She became engaged at the start of the year after a whirlwind romance And just 11 months later, after a contentious split with billionaire fiancé James Packer, Mariah Carey is trying her best to stay strong as she addressed the breakup on The Ellen Show on Wednesday.
'That's a whole friggin' thing' the 46-year-old star admitted to the talk show host during a sit down chat.
Asked how she's feeling 'mentally' and whether she's 'happy,' Mariah responded, 'I think I’m doing well.'
She added: 'No. I'm actually. Everything happens for a reason, things are the way they are.'
Ellen then probed the star about Packer's reluctance to star in Mariah's upcoming E! docu-series Mariah's World asking, 'He didn’t want to be in the docu-series at all. And yet he’s in it. You see him.' 'Allegedly' the songstress replied coyly, adding, 'It’s kind of difficult to talk about it at the moment.
Mariah then swiftly changed the subject saying, 'So I’m just going to compliment you on these decorations once again because they are fabulous and I’m here…'
In another interview Mariah still remained unbothered about her breakup.
When Extra TV’s host Mario Lopez said, “You look like life is good, you’re handling everything well. You don’t look distraught at all."
The singer replied, “Do I look distraught?”
Mario Lopez clarified, “No, I said you don’t look distraught”
Mariah added, “Okay, good. I’m definitely not distraught.”
On news that her ex husband Nick Cannon is expecting a baby with his ex girlfriend, Mariah said:
“I’ll always be supportive of him… and this is all news to me, ’cause I didn’t know about this till maybe last week.
“I asked him a question and then he kinda said yes, but didn’t, and I’m like, it’s kinda confirmed… If he’s happy that’s great,” she added.
