Yoruba film-maker Seun Egbegbe was arraigned at the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Thursday November 24, for stealing 9 iPhone mobile handsets.

He was granted bail, with the case adjourned to February 8, 2017.

The theft case against the movie marketer and socialite was before Mrs. A. J. Atunwa at Roseline Omotosho Court House in GRA Ikeja.

The magistrate admitted the accused on bail, with two sureties who have N2 million in their account, and property in Ikeja area of Lagos.

The controversial film maker was in a black and white baba and sokoto, with a blue and green pull over.

He pleaded not guilty.

It was unclear if he managed to perfect his bail conditions.

On Tuesday, November 22, Egbegbe was apprehended and mobbed by an angry crowd after he reportedly fled with 9 iPhone handsets valued at over N2 million at Computer Village, Ikeja, Lagos.

After collecting the phones, he reportedly told a sales boy in the shop that he wanted to pick money from his vehicle outside. He allegedly attempted to escape with the phones in the waiting jeep when the sales boy raised an alarm that attracted passersby.

He was battered and left bloodied until police from Area F Command came to whisk him away.

Egbegbe was held in police custody for two days at Area F Command, until he was arraigned on today.
